Going back to school or going back to a work routine after your holiday break can seem draining at first. But with the new year still fresh, I look at it as a clean start. I have just finished the first week of second semester classes, feel a little exhausted but excited for my new classes. Most of my classes are now major based, making the class size smaller and more interactive with the professor.
Actually getting ready for class (not just throwing on the nearest function shirt and yoga pants) has also helped me this first week. It’s really easy to take the easy way with a t-shirt, but I found that dressing a little bit nicer for class helps me wake up more and focus more in class. No, you don’t need to wear a dress, stockings, booties, and full accessories to class. Thinking about what I want to wear the night prior to class also helps cut down getting ready time in the morning. Today I decided to go for an athletic look for my morning class. I wore a plain white v-neck shirt from American Eagle with Victoria’s Secret PINK Gym Pants and some high top converse. I also chose to wear my hair in a half up pony tail, and my glasses. Though it doesn’t seem like I did a whole lot, I was able to feel more awake and ready for class. This outfit was SUPER comfortable to walk from one side of campus to the next!
A goal I have set myself this semester is to hopefully keep up this routine of getting ready for class, and to add in a couple workouts to also keep me more awake and productive during the day!
